have you ever considered that we lead ourselves on? we overthink everything; every touch, every look, every text. we create scenarios in our minds and imagine ourselves with that person, building it into something it isn’t, something it never was. maybe we need to stop passing the blame, maybe we break our own hearts.

I honestly love talking to someone late at night

You don’t know where the conversation will take you. It can change from being stupidly funny to being serious in an instant. The later the night, the more you learn about the person. You start to see their true self as they unravel themselves after each reply. I absolutely adore late night conversations. They always turn out to be the best and most memorable.

It’s 100% a love story. The best love stories are the ones where they don’t end up together. We very deliberately tried to make it like a love story. She has girl, she loses girl, she tries to win girl back. Just trying to make it feel like it was existing within the tropes of a romantic love story, then letting the reins go. It’s sad. That’s my favorite feeling in movies, that ache.

People say to you, ‘you’ve changed’, or something like that, well, I hope, for the sake of God that you have changed, because I don’t want to be the same person all my life. I want to be growing, I want to be expanding. I want to be changing. Because animate things change, inanimate things don’t change. Dead things don’t change. And the heart should be alive, it should be changing, it should be moving, it should be growing, its knowledge should be expanding.
